Forgiving others

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

Dearest biskut meri and friends..

This is a story about forgiving others.. which was shared yesterday by our beloved kak dz during our usrah with geng permata. Ehem~

Once upon a time, our beloved prophet , The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was seated in a gathering with the Sahabat. (sahabat – sahabat were always near to the prophet as they wanted to learn from him) then suddenly Rasulullah looked towards the entrance and said, “A man of Paradise is coming.” And everyone was eager to see who it was.

At that instance someone who seemed to be very ordinary entered the mosque where they were seated. His beard was wet and nothing special about him. he was just .. ordinary. The next day, the prophet said the same thing “A man of Paradise is coming” and later entered the same guy. And same goes to the next day.

One sahabat (Abdullah ibn Umar) was really curious as the prophet said this, so he followed the man to his house. Abdullah told the man that he was a traveler and stayed as a guest. Abdullah wanted to see what was the secret as this guy is guaranteed to enter paradise. But for three days Abdullah saw nothing unusual, so he finally told the man what the Prophet had said and asked him what was so special about him. The man thought for a long time and said “I didn’t do anything. what you saw from me, that is me”. Abdullah became frustrated and as he walked away from the house, the guy stopped him and said,

“There might be one thing — I never have any grudge with anyone. Before going to sleep every night I forgive everyone and sleep with a clean heart."

Wow!

a very nice story right? No wonder this guy is guaranteed for Paradise! How pure and clean a heart he had. As I looked at mine, I can see this one big, deep, ugly scar from an empty space left by a piece of my heart that i once gave to someone. And I can feel it is still hurting inside. And I think this heart of mine is now so black and tarnished, full with ceaseless revenge. Oh my.. T.T

Well, I did realized something. From that ugly scar, I become much stronger and I learned a lot through my mistakes. Maybe one of the reasons why Allah tested me on this is that I will have more patience, and He will reward me afterwards as Allah has promised that,

"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient." (Al-Baqarah 2:155)

Sometimes, we lost something we wanted, or we lost someone we love, and sometimes we felt beaten in life, and people hurt us beyond reason, broke promises, sliced our hearts into pieces… but hey! Pause! what did Allah promised us if we have patience? Of course, GLAD TIDINGS! ..but give glad tidings to the patient. Remember?

Oh, I will try to keep this advice close to my heart, insyaAllah. I will. And you should too, my friends :)

sweet.

And do you know something else too? kak Dz said.. Allah will give reward to the ones who always forgiving. Want to know what it is?.. It is a gigantic, magnificent, astounding mansion on a beautiful, green hill in the Paradise! can you imagine? A superb castle in the paradise made special by Allah for us! For us, if we’re forgiving. Not easy eh?

picture: cinderella's castle

Uuu.. ok now im getting excited ^_^ do you feel the same too?? huhu, from now on, Lets try to be more patient, and try to forgive everyone we know. I have to admit, that’s a haaard thing to do. really. especially for people who get angry so easily. like me. Almost impossible I guess. but like cik Lebah said.. don’t try, we HAVE TO! Uhuk.. thanks to cik lebah.. that words stung like a bee. aiyak

These are what Allah said about the people who forgives,

"Those who control their anger and are forgiving towards people; Allah loves the good." (Ali-Imran, 3: 134)

"Pardon them and overlook - Allah loves those who do good" (al-Maidah :13)

Look at your hearts too, my friends. Got any scar? If yes, Thanks to Allah for allowing the scars to be there, as it is a sign that His Glad tidings are underway towards you! Alhamdulillah..

And lastly, to my dear friends... Sometimes we didn’t realize we do mistakes and there might be people who have feeling of resentment on us too. somewhere out there yet we didn’t know. hopefully by forgiving others, Allah will forgive us too. We surely want His forgiveness right? and don’t forget. A perfect, beautiful mansion as a reward as well. Hee

Off topic:

To biskut meri, this life.. is just a test from Allah to see which of us are best in our conduct. We’re human beings.. and human do mistakes. Yes, we do mistakes! But from that, we learn and take heed. That’s why we have each other. to keep reminding. and thats why we have biskut meri! At least we have some effort to improve ourselves. Don’t let other people make you down. People only judge from what they see. Only Allah knows what we’ve been through. Only He knows how much effort we’ve put in seeking His pleasure. Let Allah do all the judging. Ok? Smile :)

Ya ALLAH, please.. give us strength.. please make us, among those who rely on You, from those who You consider successful, and place us among those who are near to you, by Your favor, O goal of the seekers. Ameen.
