Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Dearest Biskut Meri and friends..
Today, a friend that is very dear to me came crying and said that she needed someone to talk. I didn’t have so much to offer but i tried to be a good listener. She said that she felt soo miserable, with herself.. in her study, in managing her time, with her loved ones and everything just went out of kilter. And she just can’t help herself from feeling agitated, and worried, and distressed, as if she did something BIG which is wrong and her life became all messed up..
Snap! erm.. I think I often feel the same too! honestly. and i know that when i feel that way, i must have done something wrong. because we are human beings, we do mistakes every day. we cant deny that. there are so many sins we have committed, knowingly and unknowingly. these dreadful sins which has brought us further away from Him, making us feel so tense and disconcerted.
so, we MUST! we must turn to Him, ask for His forgiveness, for every little mistakes we have done, disobeyed Him or we didnt remember Him most of the times.. because we never know which little mistake we did which has brought to His displeasure.
astaghfirullah..forgive us ya Allah..
about seeking His forgiveness, Kak Dz once shared with us about this verse Allah has mentioned in the Quran,
And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins, and who can forgive sins except Allah. and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done [ali Imran :135]
do you know, when Allah sent down this ayat, the Iblis cried. really. They cried! want to know why? Because Allah offers forgiveness to those who repent. So there will be less and less people who follow their steps. after all their hardship to get us to their way disobeying Allah, and suddenly we repent and Allah forgives us, their hard works will be all worthless.
i remember the story kak Dz told us, when Allah created nabi Adam, Allah ordered the angels to prostrate to Adam and Iblis was living with the angels, so he, also, was ordered to prostrate to Adam. The angels prostrated to Adam because all the angels are obedient, they do not disobey Allah. Iblis, however, was arrogant. He objected to Allah. Iblis said, "I was created from fire, and he was only created from soil, so why should I prostrate to him? I will not." then Allah ordered Iblis again, several times. but Iblis was still arrogant.
wait, do you realize something? Allah asked Iblis several times. Several times! what is the significance when Allah did that? think.
it shows that, Allah has given chances to Iblis. several chances so that Iblis would prostrate. But Iblis was just too arrogant. even to that arrogant Iblis Allah has given sooo many opportunities. same goes to us. Allah always gives chances for us to repent, after so many wrongdoings we have done. Do we really want to be like Iblis? Of course No!
i have a friend who likes this quote, "no turning back". Yeah, he's right. we cant go back to the past and undo what we've done. What can we do then?
Repentance! Absolutely.
"Ask forgiveness from your Lord, then turn towards Him in repentance; he will loosen the sky over you in abundance, and He will add strength unto your strength." (Hud 11:52)
Ya Allah, You are indeed the most forgiving, for these earthful of sins..You gave us a U-turn! a U-turn for us when we got into the wrong way. we can actually go to the right path again.
do we realize that Allah gave us so many chances for us to change, seek for His forgiveness, every time we disobeyed Him. He did not punish us straight away. we never got struck by lightning, hadnt you noticed? He gave us more and more blessings instead. Oh, I can still wake up this morning, still breathing in His oxygen, and yet i did not even care how many wrongs i have done, and so many good deeds i have not done. ya Allah, what kind of servant am i? T.T
ya Allah, we did injustice to ourselves. So if You do not forgive us and You do not have mercy on us, we would be losers [al-a'raf:34]
That is the do'a of Adam and Hawa. They repented and Allah accepted their repentance.. Allah is Most Forgiving, and He loves forgiveness
there is one hadith about seeking forgiveness from Allah, please read every word ok?
From Anas, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, say
"Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.” [riwayat at-tarmizi]
sins reaching the clouds in the sky..and earthful of pardon.. Oh, I feel like crying now. this is truly a beautiful hadith. really. VERY touching. Can you feel it too? Ya Allah, You are indeed Al-Ghaffur, the most forgiving. T.T
nevertheless, repentance does not mean asking for Allah's forgiveness and then continue sinning. That is not repentance. NO. that is making fun of Allah. when we are totally aware that our acts are disregarding His instructions, but we think that we can ask for forgiveness later on, and yet we still doing it, that is totally making fun of Allah. what if we die before we could ask His pardon? na'uzubillah min zalik.
Sin is like a small plant. In the beginning you can pluck it out of the ground easily, otherwise the roots will go deep into the solid and it will be difficult to pluck it out of the ground. If we repent and ask for forgiveness immediately, then it is good, otherwise sinning becomes a habit and it may be too late to ask for forgiveness.
but! in order to repent, we MUST immediately stop doing the sinful act, stop now. not tomorrow. now. promise not to repeat the same mistake again and make firm resolution that in future we will desist from committing such sins. remember, Allah knows.. every single things that we do. and all will be written. our eyes, things that we are not supposed to see, listen to what we're not supposed to listen, our mouth, where at all times can never stop saying bad things, and our hands! Which so many times copying answers during the tests or exams? Oops. -_-! although we can hide it from other people, Allah knows..
Back to my friend, it is very lucky for her because when she felt that way, she realized that she needs to be more closer to Him. it shows that Allah still loves her and gives her a chance to turn back to Him.
Ya Allah.. The most kind, The most merciful, please forgive her and make her life become more peaceful and calm. Ameen
